Dr. Michael Byrne's abstract, Practical Deep Learning Tool for Scoring of Ulcerative Colitis Disease Activity in Central Reading, has been selected for poster presentation during Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2021. In addition, the Abstract, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Endoscopy - Deep Learning for Scoring of Ulcerative Colitis Disease Activity Under Multiple Scoring Systems has been selected for an oral presentation during the event.
Dr. Michael Byrne is delighted to have been invited to be one of the four international faculty in this masterclass which will review current practices and applications of AI in GI endoscopy, including colorectal polyp detection, polyp characterization (adenomatous versus nonadenomatous) and prediction of invasive cancer within a polyp lesion.

Gastroenterology (GI) and Artificial Intelligence State of the Art Conference 2019
In collaboration with the US FDA and NIH, the Mayo Clinic has organized a state of art conference on AI in GI. During the conference, the current state of art and key scientific questions and funding priorities were discussed among key academic, and government/regulatory leaders.
Dr. Michael Bryne and Dr. Doug Rex joined the faculty at the meeting and presented to key academic, industry and regulatory representatives regarding AI applications in GI.

NOSCAR Summit - 2019
Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery (NOTES)® might represent the next major advancement in minimally invasive therapy. To address this emerging technology, a working group consisting of expert laparoscopic surgeons from SAGES and a group of expert interventional endoscopists representing ASGE have joined together as the Natural Orifice Surgery Consortium for Assessment and Research (NOSCAR) Working Group on (NOTES)®.
